Bilgrami & Faruque
Bilgrami & Faruque is one of the leading architectural and engineering (A&E) firms in the country capable of providing a wide range of services. Evolving out of a partnership between an architect and a structural engineer, the firm offers a unique blend of comprehensive professional services in a variety of fields, primarily focusing on the housing sector. Through its consistent high level of performance, the firm has gradually built up a reputation as versatile and innovative designers and planners.
During the earlier years of its establishment, the firm participated in selected architectural competitions in which it performed admirably well. It won first prizes in the national design competition for Balochistan House, Islamabad (1974), interior design competition for Airport Hotel, Karachi (1977), international design competition for Abu Dhabi Palace, Karachi (1978) and national design competition for Housing Colony, Thatta Sugar Mills (1978). All these projects were successfully completed under detailed supervision of the firm.
Bilgrami & Faruque is a multi-faceted, progressive and growing organization. Since its establishment in 1972 (originally as Bilgrami and Associates, until 1976), it has evolved from its original scope of consulting
services in the field of architecture to encompass planning, urban design, interior design, structural engineering, construction management and other related specialized services.
The professional expertise at Bilgrami & Faruque consists of the two Principals, their associates and a team of highly experienced and qualified professionals and technical support staff.
The total number of persons currently employed by the firm is over twenty, of which there are five architects, two engineers, one quantity surveyor, eight assistants, four administrative staff, and other field and support personnel. The core staff is augmented by established and reputable associates in a variety of related disciplines, and other experts for specialized services.
Bilgrami & Faruque extensively use computers for most of its operational needs and for production of drawings and for presentations.
Some of the projects designed by the firm have appeared in international architectural journals such as “Architecture and Design” and “Inside-Outside” and one of the projects was nominated for the prestigious Aga Khan Award for Architecture in the 1993 cycle.

Established in 2006, the design house of Yoc’a is an offspring establishment of thirty five years of expertise in Architecture and Interiors, whose primary focus is exclusive furniture design and production. Yoc’a Stands for Young, Collective Artists.
The collaboration of the two names was established as second generation architects from the esteemed Rhode Island School of Design, returned to Pakistan to join in a family venture.
